PARAMOUNT BRISTOL ADDS 8 SHOWS TO ITS 2018 LINEUP

Paramount Bristol has added more top-echelon artists to its 2018 season, representing a cornucopia of talent from country to comedy to classic rock. The legendary Gatlin Brothers, roots-rocking outlaw Rodney Crowell and acoustic poet Tom Snider are among the new Country and Alt-Country shows on the calendar. Humorist Jeanne Robertson brings her “Rocking Chair” tour to the Paramount in August. Black Jacket Symphony presents “Back in Black” by AC/DC this Fall. By popular demand, the “Chicks with Hits” return to The Paramount stage in October. This is a rare opportunity to see three of the biggest female artists in country music playing your favorite hit songs.

Friday, May 11 at 8:00 pm
Sonic visionaries Roy “Futureman” Wooten and Kevin Spears team up to bring a soul-stirring mix of folk, electronica, rock, world and funk music to the Paramount stage. Percussionist Wooten is best known as a founding member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones.

Friday May 25 at 7:00 pm
Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers (unplugged) bring their matchless harmonies to the Paramount. They will sing their top hits from the 1970s, 1980s and today in a display of pure talent that has lit up major marquees and packed concert halls for more than 50 years. Nathan Stanley, grandson of bluegrass music icon Dr. Ralph Stanley, opens the show.

Rodney Crowell with Special Guest Jedd Hughes. Singer-songwriter Crowell played guitar and sang in Emmylou Harris’s band for several years, and scored credits on hits for Waylon Jennings, Bob Seger and the Oak Ridge Boys. After the release of Diamonds & Dirt, Crowell became a solo star. His latest album “Close Ties” (2017) is pure gold.

Humorist Jeanne Robertson is bringing her “Rocking Chair” tour to Bristol. This former Miss North Carolina continues to charm audiences with her humorous observations about life around her.

Award-winning singer-songwriter John Anderson has one of the most recognizable voices in the history of country music with hits like “I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal (But I’m Gonna Be a Diamond Someday),” “Swingin’” and “Wild and Blue.” The fact is, John Anderson is now the standard-bearer for traditional country music, of the 100 Proof variety.

The “Chicks With Hits” – Terri Clark, Pam Tillis and Suzy Bogguss return to The Paramount stage after winning rave reviews on their national tour. The triple-threat combination of talent is unparalleled, with 36 top 10 singles, over 10 million records sold, and numerous GRAMMY, ACM, and CMA awards among them.
